Wildlife Chardonnay 2015 - Swartland, South Africa

Wine: Wildlife

Varietal: Chardonnay

Region: Swartland

Country: South Africa

Year: 2015

Price: $4.95

Shop Review: This unoaked Chardonnay is an accessible wine with the body of the Chardonnay grape but without the oak and buttery flavors often associated with this cultivar. The wine displays notes of orange rind, apple skin, crisp pear and melony fruit in a medium-bodied naked style.

My Review: This Chardonnay was alright. We have tried a number of Wildlife wines throughout our tastings this semester, and this one is like the others, drinkable but not a enjoyable wine. I could sense some buttery flavors, which are usually present in new world Chardonnay. I also could taste an oaky flavor. They may barrel this wine in oak barrels. The aftertaste was horrible, something you would never want to taste...

Did not have with food.
